Super Falcons Winger Rinsola Babajide Is Now a Giallorossa

By Fakorede King Abdulmajeed | Fuxma Media | July 14, 2025

AS Roma have landed a serious attacking threat with the signing of Nigerian international Rinsola Babajide on a free transfer. The 27-year-old winger has inked a deal that keeps her in the Italian capital until June 30, 2027.

Fresh off a standout season with UDG Tenerife in Spain’s Liga F, where she notched 10 goals and 5 assists in 26 league appearances, Babajide is bringing pace, flair, and unpredictability to a Roma side chasing silverware on all fronts.

And the timing? Impeccable. She’s currently lighting it up with the Super Falcons at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Her impact has been immediate: a goal and an assist in Nigeria’s dominant opener against Tunisia.
Speaking after the move was confirmed, Babajide said:

“I am honoured to join a club like AS Roma, with its rich history and ambitious vision.”

The winger also touched on her expectations for Serie A Femminile:

“I feel like it’s similar to the Spanish league everyone is technical, and it’s a competitive league.”

This is the latest chapter in a career that’s been anything but linear. From Millwall and Watford, to spells at Liverpool and Brighton, Babajide’s evolution has taken her through English football, into Spain, and now to a Champions League side in Italy. She represented England at youth level, but in 2023 made a decisive switch to Nigeria debuting for the Super Falcons last October.

For Roma, the move isn’t just about depth, it’s about intent. The club has also sealed deals for Australian defender Winonah Heatley and German midfielder Annalena Rieke, signaling a serious push for both Serie A and Champions League success.
With her direct style, relentless energy, and a point to prove, Rinsola Babajide is a signing that fits the Roma DNA. First, though, there’s a continental trophy to chase with Nigeria.

Once WAFCON wraps, she’ll join up with her new teammates in Rome just in time for a fresh campaign, and maybe, a new legacy.

  2. With Babajide, Roma aren’t just building, they’re loading. Direct football, international pedigree, and hunger all over the pitch.

  3. Another example of a player betting on herself and winning. She left England, climbed in Spain, and now lands in Rome. That’s a journey.

  4. Rinsola’s engine doesn’t stop. 90 minutes of pressing, dribbling, and making defenders uncomfortable. Roma are getting a winger who lives in chaos. Massive move.

  6. That Tenerife season wasn’t a fluke. 10 goals, 5 assists, and now she’s headed to a Champions League club. Nigeria’s wide areas are STACKED right now.
